Voice Yourself: Vote
Voice Yourself: Vote was a project inspired by BTS’ social awareness.
This project aimed to get people to voice themselves by voting in US elections.
Voice Yourself: Vote was a project inspired by BTS’ social awareness. From references to the Gwangju Uprising to posting pictures of themselves voting in advance, BTS has shown that they are socially aware. Namjoon’s 닥투 (Vote, or Just Shut Up), Change, and more currently, his UN speech encourages people to speak themselves. Generation Unlimited, which is what BTS went to the UN to support, states on their website that their goals include giving youth “opportunities to civically engaged, including digitally, and to voice their opinions on issues that affect them.” By supporting Generation Unlimited, BTS supports the message that young people can be a force for change and that “Generation Unlimited will influence global policy and practice for young people, and it will demonstrate new standards for linking young people into policy debate at all levels.”
The Voice Yourself: Vote project aimed to get people to voice themselves by voting. We encouraged people to take pictures of their “I Voted” stickers with a purple heart and post it on social media. If they voted absentee or weren’t able to get a sticker at the polling place they could make a V sign with a purple heart. It also encouraged people to go with other ARMYs. We also gave information to help those who might be voting absentee or live overseas and encouraged people to learn about who and what they are voting for before heading to the polls.
